Two weeks ago, UFC President Dana White had this to say in regards to Dan Henderson signing with the only viable number two MMA promotion, Strikeforce:
"I show a lot of guys a lot of respect. Just because I wouldn’t pay Dan more than anybody else doesn’t mean I don’t respect guys. I’m happy (with his signing with Strikeforce). I’m very happy with it. I couldn’t be happier. I pushed him to do that. I started taking [expletive] off the table, and that made him make his decision to go with them … Dan probably won’t be back in the UFC … He’ll retire over there. .. Dan and I talked the other day … He knows where we stand. I’m not sitting in front of the media and talking shit about him. I talked to him on the phone. We talked, and I told him exactly how it is."
The two came face-to-face at the Fighters Only Awards on December 30th, where the Ultimate Fight President won Leading Man of the Year: and Henderson took Best Knockout.
The two were very all smiles with each other, and the mutual respect demonstrated, if real, was a great display for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.
As our own Hustler De Tuti Hustlers Paul Heyman noted this afternoon, "It never hurts to show a little f—in’ class!"
IT’S THE VERY FIRST MEDIA WATCH OF TWENTY TEN.
