The power of the singer as an influencer cannot be underestimated!
Rihanna was in high gear (no pun intended), promoting her upcoming (and much-anticipated) album ANTI … and while she was posting a picture on social media in which she is apparently listening to the upcoming album (her eighth, by the way), she happened to be wearing a pair of uber-expensive Dolce & Gabbana headphones.
No big deal, of course, except the fact those headphones cost NINE F’N THOUSAND DOLLARS, with all the bells, whistles, Swarovski crystals and metallic rings. And within 24 hours of RiRi‘s posting on social media, the headphones sold out everywhere. Yup, at NINE THOUAND DOLLARS a pair!
Now here’s the funny part of this story. Nowhere in the postings can one find the Dolce & Gabbana logo, or a credit nor even a mention of the brand. But as with all things Rihanna, the postings went viral, and people went crazy figuring out Rihanna‘s newest fashion accessory. And once they figured it out, it was a major day of sales for Dolce & Gabbana.
