Our boss Paul Heyman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Friday, April 5th in — where else? — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as WWE kicks off WrestleMania 40 Weekend, as first reported today by The Associated Press.
From his days as a photographer behind the scenes at Madison Square Garden when only a teenager; to being a rookie manager who infamously led Austin Idol and Tommy Rich to shaving Jerry Lawler‘s head in the Mid South Coliseum in Memphis; to the Midnight vs Midnight feud; color-commentating with Jim Ross in World Championship Wrestling; his decision to take on the entire industry (from a bingo hall in Philadelphia) and disrupt the entire genre with Extreme Championship Wrestling; to his amazing run in WWE with Brock Lesnar, CM Punk and Roman Reigns; whether a manager, an advocate, a special counsel or a wiseman, Heyman’s contributions in front of the camera are always in competition with his various roles for many decades behind the scenes as well.
We’ll have a lot more on this breaking news story (as soon as our boss tells us), so please stay tuned to the Hustle for more on Paul Heyman entering the WWE Hall of Fame!
