Metallica is coming to Fortnite. Epic has announced that the band will be featured in the game’s next concert as part of a larger musical collaboration between Fortnite and the heavy metal group.
The concert, titled “Metallica: Fuel Fire Fury,” will take place on June 22nd at 2 PM, 5 PM, and 11 PM ET, and June 23rd at 10 AM, 2 PM, and 5 PM ET. While specific details about the virtual show are scarce, it will follow in the footsteps of previous in-game concerts by Eminem, Ariana Grande, Travis Scott and Marshmello.
As Fortnite evolves beyond just a battle royale, Epic is integrating the Metallica experience throughout the game. The band will be the main act in the music game Fortnite Festival starting on June 13th, succeeding Billie Eilish, and a new “Thrash Mountain” track will be added to Rocket Racing. Additionally, all four members of Metallica will be featured in the game, with Lego versions of them included as well.
Currently, Fortnite‘s battle royale mode is in the midst of a post-apocalyptic season reminiscent of Mad Max, featuring a wasteland biome and vehicular combat. Meanwhile, Lego Fortnite has received a significant update introducing two new difficulty modes: cozy and expert.
