Kendrick Lamar will headline the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show on February 9, 2025, in New Orleans. This will be Lamar’s first time headlining the show, though he previously appeared as a special guest in Dr. Dre’s 2022 performance. As just the second rapper to headline, K.Dot emphasized the genre’s impact, stating, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
Lamar’s performance will be creatively directed by pgLang, his own agency. Lamar has been active in the music scene, notably with his hit single “Not Like Us,” which emerged from a high-profile rap feud with Drake. The track topped the Hot 100 for two weeks and amassed 765 million streams.
The Halftime Show will air live on FOX from the Caesars Superdome and is part of the sixth year Roc Nation will program the event, with executive production by Roc Nation and Jesse Collins, and direction by Hamish Hamilton. Roc Nation, under JAY-Z, has overseen the Halftime Show since 2020 as part of its partnership with the NFL.
The NFL season begins today (Sept. 8) and runs through January.
