When our boss Paul Heyman coined the phrase EAT SLEEP CONQUER REPEAT, the entire world took notice. All of a sudden, the phrase EAT SLEEP _______ REPEAT was everywhere.
While our boss will openly admit this one line, used in a promo on Monday Night RAW to promote Brock Lesnar (and ultimately Lesnar vs Undertaker for WrestleMania 30), was inspired by Fatboy Slim‘s EAT SLEEP RAVE REPEAT, the phrase had no pop culture traction until Paul went viral with it on RAW.
It’s the same thing that happened in the 1990s, when Paul changed Eastern Championship Wrestling to EXTREME Championship Wrestling.
All of a sudden, everything in advertising became EXTREME.
It became the catchword of the 1990s.
And so, it continues …
