David Letterman spoke to his audience last night in a speech that certainly becomes a legendary moment in late night history.
The now-undisputed King of Late Night telling everyone, in his own “that’s Dave” way, described the harrowing ordeal of a blackmail attempt made by a former CBS News staffer, later named as Robert J. “Joe” Halderman.
During our staff meeting today, our own Hustler De Tuti Hustlers Paul Heyman said, “There will always be the clips with Madonna. There will always be moments where he made fun of himself in the name of being funny. There will always be the clips where he really stuck it to the guests and did his very own personalized version of the ol’ Johnny Carson doubletake. However, there will be no more defining 10 minutes you’ll ever see that would accurately describe Letterman’s relationship with his audience as there was on his show Thursday night.”
