WWE Smackdown went off the air in a most interesting way involving The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, our boss (Reigns’ #SpecialCounsel and #Wiseman) Paul Heyman and Smackdown head honcho Nick Aldis.
As everyone already knows, on Saturday, January 27th, Reigns will defend his title at the Royal Rumble mega-event, live from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. In order to determine which potential challenger gets the title match, Aldis arranged a Triple Threat Match on Smackdown, which would see Randy Orton vs LA Knight vs AJ Styles. The winner of this match would become no.1 contender, and receive the championship bout against Roman Reigns at The Royal Rumble.
It all made sense.
But then Roman Reigns (and Paul Heyman, Solo and Jimmy Uso) had other plans.
But those plans didn’t take hold, as Nick Aldis pulled yet another ace out of his sleeve to counter The Bloodline‘s uprising. He scheduled a Fatal Four-Way Match for the title. Reigns vs Orton vs Knight vs Styles.
Aldis told Heyman of these plans, and left Heyman to be the one to tell his own Tribal Chief the bad news.
