6ix9ine has done it again, taking over the top of the charts, and shocking the music industry at the very same time. The controversial and insanely-talented superstar has continue his pivot away from rap. He turned the music industry upside down this week with the release of his third studio album, Leyenda Viva (“Living Legend”). The album is reggaeton; is entirely in Spanish; consists of 11 tracks; and features minimal collaborations. Latin Grammy Award winning artist Lenier appears on seven of the eleven tracks. One of the songs included on the album , Y Ahora was previously released as a single and draws inspiration from regional Mexican music. That track was a collaboration with the Mexican band Guapo Firme.
Leyenda Viva is 6ix9ine’s first full studio album in three years. It follows his sophomore release, TattleTales, which was released in 2020. 6ix9ine also dropped a video for his new single, entitled Pa Ti, which features a female artist named Yailin la Mas Viral. “I dominated the English (music market),” he exclaimed. “And I’m gonna dominate the Spanish.”
