Ultimate Fight President Dana White Confirms The Biggest Heavyweight Rematch in MMA For New Year's Weekend in Sin City!
The big rumor floating around UFC, some of it stirred up by UFC itself, was that Alistair Overeem was going to be able to leap frog over Cain Velasquez and fight Junior Dos Santos for the Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Championship of the World. The rumors got so hot, people started speculating Overeem would be able to actually fight before his suspension, handed down by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, was lifted on December 27th.
Keith Kizer, Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, publicly stated that he hasn't had discussions regarding an early hearing and would oppose one.
And he gave the impression he wouldn't just oppose such a move, he'd vehemently oppose it.
And so, Junior Dos Santos (15-1), who defeated Cain Velasquez for the title, will step into the Octagon against The Man Who Massacred Bigfoot (Silva) and defend the championship on December 29th in Las Vegas. Look for nothing short of an all-out war.
