The World's Most Famous Golf Star May Have Fallen From Grace, But That Didn't Stop Him From Making Huge Headlines This Week With a Most Interesting Video Online!
Tiger Woods decision to forsake a formal media press conference in lieu of talking to his fans through social media (which we discussed at length HERE) is certainly the topic of controversy this week, but it did get us thinking.
Tiger's rather "un-social media" press conference prompted Golf Channel TV anchor Eric Kuselias to tweet that it was akin to "Soviet" pressers where Woods didn't have to answer tough questions, like anything about kicking golf clubs at The Masters (whoops).
"So he is basically saying, I am going to talk about the things that make me look good and that I feel like talking about," Kuselias said during Tuesday's Morning Drive show. "To me, when you are a public figure and you are a professional athlete and you only acknowledge things that are good for you, it's weak."
FoxSports.com's Robert Lusetich wrote Woods "double-bogeyed" media relations with his approximately 15-minute video chat with fans. And, he noted, that two answers were actually "thinly veiled infomercials" for sponsors Nike and Fuse. What a coinkidink!
"The nearly 15-minute session in which he appeared — disturbingly, like a hostage — alone in front of a video camera, was unadulterated fluff," Lusetich wrote.
We think fluff is part of the answer.
And so is video.
