Brock Lesnar Once Again The UFC Undisputed Heavyweight Champion, Forces Shane Carwin To Tap After A Bloody and Violent Assault

E-mail Print

Las Vegas, Nevada -- Brock Lesnar survived the bloodiest and most brutal beating of his life and forced Shane Carwin to tap out in the second round to a head and arm choke.

Only one minute into the fight, Carwin smashed Lesnar with a vicious uppercut, and Lesnar went reeling. Carwin followed up with a flurry and a brutal knee, and then got a downed Lesnar pinned up against the fence. What happened next will be speculated about for a long time to come. Carwin reigned down on Lesnar with vicious punches and elbows. Referee Josh Rosenthal kept a very close eye on the action, and appeared very ready to stop the fight.

Lesnar, however, survived the brutal assault, and with only a minute left in the round worked his way up to his feet and kept Carwin, standing, against the cage and applied wrist control to force Carwin into the very first 2nd round of his career.

This is where the fight took a dramatic turn.

Carwin, who threw so much into trying to end the fight, was exhausted and it was noticed by Lesnar's head trainer Marty Morgan. When the 2nd round began, in a classic moment that will live forever in both men's careers, Carwin looked across the Octagon and winked at Lesnar. The former WWE Champion, bloodied and severely battered, smiled back, and even high fived Carwin to start the round. After some initial feeling-out, Lesnar got a takedown, passed Carwin's guard, then got side control, and then applied a head and arm choke to force Carwin to shockingly tap out.

Next in line for the UFC Undisputed Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is Cain Velasquez. It was announced by UFC President Dana White that Carwin had been taken to the hospital, suffering from what was described as fatigue.
